Jackson Hewitt Tax Service in Garner, NC

I received terrible service from Jackson Hewitt (Garner , NC location). I started my taxes on a Saturday (was in the office for 2 hours), had to return on Sunday (for 3 hours only to be told about additional information I should bring that I wasn't notified about on Saturday) and then returned on Wednesday morning to complete and sat for 2.5 hours. On Sunday I requested an estimate for the preparation of my taxes and was told that I could not be given an estimate. Come to find out that the "services" they provided me with cost me $430 and my husband had to return for a 4th time on Wednesday to pick up the receipt that the man forgot to pass over to us. I feel I was unfairly charged. Once sitting down with the two different "professionals" (on different days), they proceeded to answer telephones (personal and work related), answer questions from people walking in, get checks for those walking in...all while I am sitting in front of them trying to get my taxes done. They openly admitted that they were not sure what to claim as deductions for my house purchase last year. I usually do my own taxes but since I did get married and was a new homeowner I took my taxes to Jackson Hewitt trusting they would handle things professionally and get me my maximum return. I tried to contact the local head office to speak with a manager and left 3 messages with no return phone call and reached out to the headquarters where I was told I would receive a phone call back within 24-48 hours and I never received a call back. I tried reaching out to the local head office once more and demanded to receive a call back by the end of the day. Once the manager called me back, I was told that my taxes would be reevaluated for accuracy and that I would hear back from her by the following Monday. I never received a call back however I did receive a $25 check in the mail. There was no explanation as to what that check was for (an error found in my taxes, my troubles, etc.). I feel a $25 dollar check does not justify the trouble I went through with Jackson Hewitt. This does not even cover the $40 protection plan I purchased because I wasn’t feeling very confident with the service I received. Never again will I step foot in a Jackson Hewitt. Their lack of dedication to their work was truly upsetting.
