Review Texas Guaranteed Student Loan

Wonderful people that want to help! The rep I spoke to dug deep to research my loan and righted a wrong. She was an angel and made everything OK again! A wonderful company with wonderful values.

If I could, I would give these people ZERO stars. Students, do not take out loans from these people. They are a private lending institution. If you find yourself unable to pay and miss even ONE payment, your loan will go immediately into default, unlike Federal Student Loans, for which you have a grace period of nine months. They will not work with you based on your income. My husband paid them what he could afford every month, on time, which was $100, they demanded $500. Since he couldn't pay what they demanded, they just decided to put him in default and garnished %15 of his pay. No court, no appeal, no trial, nothing. So please, do NOT take out private loans. Ever. If you do and can't pay, just take the hit and declare bankruptcy. I went to school in the early '90s and was able to pay back my loans when the laws weren't insane and the government didn't allow student loan lenders to leave you homeless and unable to feed yourself. Private student loan lenders are also allowed to seize your bank account, your assets, any of your spouse's assets, and who knows what else. Do yourself a favor. Go to a public university. Try to pay your own way as much as you can. Take out Federal Loans. DO NOT TAKE OUT PRIVATE LOANS.

Still investigating whether the funds they have garnished from my husbands checks for the past couple of years are LEGIT.. we've received no paperwork stating the amount the loans were for. None of the numbers are adding up, and all we've received numbers wise is a verbal statement. Received a letter last month saying the loans were paid in full (AGAIN, with NO NUMBERS). Then received a letter this month saying they were going to start garnishing again. Spoke to a Latonya who is VERY RUDE and should NOT have a job at ANYONE'S call center. Wouldn't speak to me EVEN though my husband was on the line and verified all his info and gave permission. She was very rude when we requested info on how to get me authorized, and told us we had to send in written consent. She purposely spoke really fast so that we couldn't gather all the info, and when I asked her to repeat the address for us to send the consent, she told me she wasn't talking to me.. lol.. Spoke to Ken in management who was much nicer, but we are still pending for more information. He was unaware of the letter stating they were going to start garnishing, and said they didn't have that letter on file. So he had me scan it to him and we shall resume conversation today. We also created an online account for my husband to see if we could see any numbers online. After creating the online account, we received a welcome email. But once we tried to log back in, somehow mysteriously, our access was denied.. and it wouldn't allow us to retrieve or reset any user names or passwords. This whole company seems like a scam. If you, or anyone you know are thinking about signing up, DON'T DO IT!

"Asa from Texas Guaranteed" called my phone and left a message this morning. I'm googling because I think Texas Guaranteed sounds like a scam. I never took out a loan from this company, and I never will. They are trying to cash in on the student loan debt scam, and since student loan debts are too huge, and the interest is too much to pay back to a debt collector, in anyone's lifetime, this is a waste of my time. 35 million students owe $1.25 TRILLION in student loan debt. I'm better off negotiating with the US government. Also, vote for the Green party next Presidential election and a Green President will bail out our student loan debt and make college free.
