Great Western Bank in Rapid City, SD

I have to get out of this bank. Last year or year before went through this thing w/ them where they mailed me a letter about overdraft protection, I replied NO and mailed it back right away, they send another so I call and say NO and they say ok. Then I go through the drive-thru and Oh we see you haven't decided about OD protection. I flipped out and said ask me again, one more time and see what happens. Thieves! Then I see they got their asses sued and issued credits to all their acct holders for their deceptive practices in that area. Service SUCKS, the website is lame and if you set an alert of any kind, you're stuck w/ it forever more and it's unavailable often. Had a freeze put on my debit card one time too and no one could tell me the # to call, I had to wait until Monday. Overall, it's a mediocre bank w/ mediocre service and mediocre account-holder perks. Would not recommend. Go with a Credit Union, Med 5, Black Hills and Highmark are where my friends and family bank and they're much happier.

I have been trying to get a personal banking issued cleared up with them and it is almost an impossibility!!! I have been banking with them for well over 10 years, and when I try to get this very small matter taken care of, I transferred, told the Dept I've been transferred to can't help me, had the people lose me in transfer, called back and then the banker woman was absolutely RUDE to me, then called back to try one last time to leave a msg for the Dept that I'm told is the only one that can help, and yet they can receive calls, I can only leave a msg, and then the RECEPTIONIST is rude and not at all understanding why I am frustrated, even though I tried to explain the situation!!!! As soon as this issue is resolved, I'm done with this bank!!!!!

I hate how if you can not call and talk to someone we have to leave a voicemail and then they get back to you I think that is terrible customer service

The franchise has great hours and many locations. I work all over the US and have never been disappointed with their services. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is their retirement solutions aren't that good.

Ive been with this bank since I started my job which was 9 months ago. I came today Saturday April 8 2017 10:30am. The bank was closed and it said it was open from 8:30 til noon. I was gonna put the 17 cents I owed so they don't try to get me for hundreds over 17 cents. I'm dissatisfied. Thinking about switching banks. I hope they don't overdraft charge me for just 17 cents.
