First National Pawn in Rapid City, SD

The gentlemen employees of this pawn shop are excellent, my issue is not with any of them as they have always taken good care of me. Unfortunately when I went back to finish a transaction recently I was treated very poorly by an overweight short woman with an un-natural dark shade of red hair. She (no names as they do not wear name tags) displayed an extraordinary lack of customer service skills. I wasn't asking them to make any sort of exception for me it was just a small glitch, but the way she approached me about it was enough to make me decide not to do business there anymore. I'm a customer service manager and my company makes sure we know what word choices to use to make the customer feel valued, not so at this pawn shop. She implied that I couldn't afford to finish my transaction and did not apologize for the misunderstanding or use any words that indicate any kind of interest in seeing me leave there satisfied. She works in a business where people sometimes can't afford a transaction, but she shouldn't treat people like she's above them or like they're a hassle to her, and that's what she did. I had to leave and come back and when I did one of the nice gentlemen helped me, greeting me with a smile and throughout the deal he was very nice and friendly. It's not hard to be nice and/or friendly, so I'm not sure what Hagatha's problem was but either way it was irritating and undeserved. If you go there, deal with the men, the women apparently don't know what their job is.

I'm 12 years old and they sold me a switch blade without even asking my age or if it's alright with my parents. But I read a review that the girl workers don't know what there job is and I agree. But I'm still happy with the blade

Been going there for years for the best deals in town. Chelsea is always helpful and courteous.

We came into the store and was met at the counter by Chelsea. We told her what we were wanting to sell, so she did some figuring and after some negotiations we came up to a satisfactory price for us and Chelsea. She said she would guarantee the price for 2 weeks. We came back in about 10 days and Chelsea recognized us right away and gave us the price that she said she would. We were very pleased with working with Chelsea and definitely would recommend her to anyone and we will work with her the next time we are in here.
