Don't even waste your time. Working with WF in Crystal Lake was such a roller coaster and I didn't even end up getting the house because of them. I called at the end of September and was told by Cristopher that they could handle my loan but would probably need an extension, even though my contract with the seller didn't expire for a month. As it turned out, not only would I need that extension but I ended up needing SIX at $225 a pop plus the fees to overnight it each time. I began to notice that I wouldn't hear anything from Cristopher until it was time for another extension and even then it was like pulling teeth to get him to give me the documentation I needed. He actually started ignoring my calls after a while and would text me that he would call me later and never would. It felt like he told me anything he could to buy himself a little more time. For weeks, each time I would actually speak with him, he would end the call with, "I'll order your appraisal for next week." It didn't end up getting completed until mid-December, just before the seller began counting down to the last extension they would allow. I called and asked if he would explain why my closing costs were an outrageous $11k and he ignored my every effort to speak with him about it. After a week, I asked again, to which he replied, "Oh, I thought you were good on that." (-_-) I eventually got to speak with the underwriter and thought we were making progress until she began ignoring my calls as well. Let me make it clear that I in no way abused the privilege of calling them. I would call and leave a message and allow them ample time (a day, even two) to return my call because I had work to do just like them and I respect that. In the end, the Friday before the expiration of my sixth and final extension, Cristopher begged me to beg the seller for another extension because he was sure he could get it done this time. Not only would they not allow me to get another extension but I didn't believe this guy for a hot second after four months of this same song and dance. After my contract expired, I called and spoke with the branch manager. She informed me that my information hadn't even been entered into their database for a month after I initially called, which just so happened to be the day the first extension was due. I was furious but not surprised. Like I said, don't even waste your time.
