Review Professional Finance Company

Very frustrating, non empathetic, and mean representatives working for this collection center! I had a near death experience and was unconscious, when my fiance at the time called 911! I was bleeding internally and not able to "verify" that the ambulance company didn't take my insurance! After several months of being given the run around.... I received court documents pursuing a judgement against me. I was told by one rep that if I could get a letter stating I had coverage at the time of the ambulance ride then they could personally bill them. I'm on disability with limited income due to heart failure! Remind you I'm only 42 and have a nursing degree and all this started at the age of 34 with open heart surgery! VERY FRUSTRATING! So after contacting the Wyoming medicaid office to get the letter I discovered they would pay for the ambulance they just needed to be billed! However, the ambulance service in Colorado is a non participating provider and I was then informed by another rep that they do not bill for payment! I wasted nearly 3 months attempting to collect the letter from the medicaid office of which gave them the opportunity to pursue a judgement! After speaking with yet ANOTHER rep... I was basically told that I couldn't have possibly been under the impression they would bill medicaid from their office because they don't do that! I now have to pay a $1,300 bill because I wasn't alert enough nor thinking to ask if they accepted medicaid prior to them taking me to the hospital! Furthermore... Why would a corporation continue to sue an individual that had coverage at the time... Yet, no one was willing to bill for the payment!!!!

This company continued to call me even after I had asked them to stop multiple times. When I first spoke with them they told me to verify my information over the phone. I did not know what the call was about so I asked for more information. The woman on the other end rudely told me to look at their website so I could understand. After realizing they were a debt collecting agency I called back to inquire about what I owed and had to deal with another rude person who wouldn't give me information. I asked them to send me a letter to the address they had on file so I could see it in writing. I received the letter, which stated I owed $40 to a hospital I had never been to. I called the hospitals billing department and they verified I had never been there. I called Professional Finance Company back and told them and they insisted I was wrong. I don't know if this company is a scam but I recommend looking into your debt yourself before paying these people because they clearly had the wrong person in this case.

Where to start with this outfit... I was never notified about any collection attempts by these folks-found a collection account on my Experian credit history and hunted these people down. I contacted them and was informed I was responsible for a medical debt from my wife... The beauty of this interaction was I was informed this account was on hold since this account was in my wife's bankruptcy and they will attempt to collect this after the bankruptcy discharges... This is a chpt 13 and every creditor will be paid in full.. I cannot believe this can be reported to my credit since Jan 2014, when the debt is currently in a bankruptcy, the debt is not in my name and this seems to be some crazy attempt to manipulate the system for $246.00. My wife has contacted her BK Trustee to see what remedies are available. I will post an update for others in the same boat with these folks.

I am being sued from a bill from 5 years ago that was paid by insurance. So, I will let them have the judgement. Good luck collecting. I take care of a disabled husband full time. So have a great day in court. They can't call because I won't give them a #. They bought an old debt now they want to sue me. Ok, well can't get blood out of a turnip. Good luck.

First, PFC reported a $150 medical bill I wasn't aware of without making any attempt to notify me, causing my hard-earned credit score to drop 80 points. When I called to resolve the issue (i.e. pay the bill), the first person I spoke with lacked any sense of empathy when I asked if my credit score would be restored once the bill was paid. Her response was "I cannot provide credit advice, call the credit bureau." In order to avoid saying something I would really regret, I hung up and called back once I calmed down. The second person I spoke with, while nice enough, informed me that I would not get a receipt for proof of payment, once I just provided my social and credit card #. Are you serious? I buy a $5 sandwich and I get a receipt. But for something that affects my credit score so drastically, I get no written record of payment? This place is a joke.
