I'm a member of School Employees Credit Union but work in Issaquah. I lost my debit card and while waiting for it to arrive in the mail it was suggest by SECU to get a cash advance. I was told any credit union can complete this transaction. Since I work in Issaquah it was convenient to visit Harborstone Credit Union. When arriving I was greeted in a friendly manner but when I mentioned I was not a member and would like a cash advance I was told they do not assist anyone but their members. This was told to me in a very strong and snotty manner. I mentioned that SECU said any and all credit unions are capable of completing this transaction. They were very firm and determined to not assist me. I sat in their lobby and called my credit union to confirm they were sure any credit union can help me. After explaining my situation to my SECU rep they laughed and couldn't believe how rude Harborstone was being. They said that they have never heard of a credit union not being able to complete this type of transaction. They insisted I speak with the manager who was already ready to back up her teller. I told them I have SECU on the line and they are saying this is a transaction you are able to complete. The manager said, oh fine, but this is a one time thing and an exception only. This was said to me in a way that made me feel very uncomfortable, like I did something wrong. I was then told I need to have 2 proofs of id (which sounded like they were hoping I didn't have it) I gave them everything they needed. When walking out they were all silent like they were just waiting for that door to shut behind to gossip about the situation. If I was ever looking for a new bank this situation would have me eliminate them from my list. Very unfriendly and "nose up" type of management. I felt like I was not good enough to bank with them. If this was a policy of there's to not help ANYONE ever but members, then stating that in a polite way would've resolved this situation. After calling the headquarters this was not policy. Please drive the extra miles to get better service else where.

I would never bank anywhere else! Harborstone makes you feel welcome and like you're banking with your friends. The Issaquah Branch is always so friendly and willing to help.

Had banked at a national chain for over 30 years, no thanks. I'll stick with a local credit union. The staff is always curteous and willing to help you.

Not happy that the y relocated the Issaquah location then the Woodinville location is not open on Satturdays anymore. It was convenient having the branch within walking distance. Now I have to drive just to go to the branch. I'm done with that.
