Review BB&T

They see me at least twice a month for the past 5 years, and rudely refuse to cash my college student son's very small tax return check that he had signed over to me. Here's the clincher: When I came in earlier in the day to cash it for him, the older woman with the short grey hair curtly stated, "he needs to be here for us to cash this". I said I understand and I'll bring him back in person with his driver's license. We came back together later in the day and the same woman contradicts herself and says, "no, we won't cash that for you". Now, I had more than enough in my account to cover his $149.00 check. And certainly one would think the Federal government is good for the money. So where's the problem here? Seems that BB&T would rather decline standard banking transactions with their customers and risk losing their business rather than put common sense in place: e.g. We know this man, he has had an account here for a good while , his son has a driver's license, his son is here in person, his son has signed the check, his son could be seen as a future account holder if treated fairly in this transaction, etc. But no, the tellers don't seem to have common sense. As I protested their refusal to do standard banking business with us, the teller with the long black hair began to chime in and blame the Federal government repeatedly as if what I was trying to do was illegal. Now, to me it sounds like a very bad judgement call on the part of BB&T that was passed off on the Federal government. My son was easily able to cash the check elsewhere even with my(his father's) signature on the check. So what does this say about BB&T?
