Texans Credit Union in Richardson, TX

After being a member for over 20 years I messed up with an online payment resulting in a $20 overdraft. I was charged $35 for the overdraft and then charged a $5 overdraft protection fee. It was my first time in 20+ years and they would not waive the fees. I am no longer a member

ATM randomly has no deposit option????!???! F@#king TYPICAL. This was once a premium credit union, it's dogshit now.

Regretfully refinanced my vehicle through them. Yes, they offered me a lower rate (2% less than my previous APR) but their loan process is extremely slow and marginally outdated, their associates are intentionally terrible with their communication, and they mislead you about their rates. They told me I qualified for 1.99% since I was in their highest credit bracket which is 740+ and I was in the market for financing on another vehicle purchase. After they hassled me for document after document, they said my rate was 2.49%. When I asked what happened to me getting 1.99%, they said I was financing longer than the 1.99% qualifies for which is 48 months or less. When I said that wasn't explained to me prior, all they kept saying was sorry. And lastly, they conveniently failed to mention that there is a $15 fee if you wish to pay your bill online or over the phone. Otherwise, you must go into the branch to make your payment every month which is a huge inconvenience. They may save you money by offering lower rates but they'll cost you more by wasting your time and making everything a hassle. I recommend going somewhere else that doesn't charge for online payments.

I've been a member since 1980 when they were called Texins. I've always had great service with them, even during their time of trouble when some poor management decisions put them in receivership. The staff always remained upbeat, gave great customer service. I haven't lived in Texas since 2007 and being out of state, the service has still been great. Very responsive by phone and always had questions or issues resolved within 24 hours via the message service on-line. I kept my account here simply because they've always been responsive and very helpful in finding solutions.
