I only have about $10,000 in debt. This is a good company if you ask lots of questions and are completely aware of how exactly they help you. They do exactly what they say they will. I think a lot of people have unrealistic expectations that the company never agreed to or advertised to begin with. Here's how they work: They charge a fee based upon how much you owe and how much you can afford to pay. (Mine was $120 3 months). For the first 3 months that amount comes out of your checking account. The next six months, half of it comes out of your account to cover their fees, and you set up a savings account and put at least the other half, plus anything else you can spare, into they savings account to start your savings towards paying off the debt. The more you save, the quicker you will be out of debt. When you feel like you have enough to settle a card (for instance, I had a card for 1500 and I had 1000 saved) you call them. They ask you to hold on a second while they call your creditors and negotiate your debt, then they tell you what they settled for, and tell you the address to send the check to. Don't think of this company as a miracle company. I was hounded by collection calls, and I could no longer the stress of the debt hanging over my head. Credit Solutions receives all your calls for you. If you receive a call, just give them their number and tell the company that Credit Solutions has your power of attourney. It just felt good doing something responsible, and not having the annoying and upsetting calls anymore. I have seen many reviews where people are upset that late fees, etc kept piling up on their cards while they were saving up the money to settle with the card. I didn't know that at the time either, but I'd rather pay a little extra than be overwhelmed by those awful credit card companies/collection agencies. If I had been trying to do this myself, the late fees would have piled up then, too. (Probably even more since I was just trying to ignore the situation) My one recommendation is that if you know you will not be disciplined enough to set aside money in a savings account just for your credit card debt, then you should probably not enroll in this program. It take a little discipline, but it's well worth it. Don't just stick your head in the mud, and think it'll all go away. Eventually they'll take you to court, and you'll have to pay every penny back. I'll be debt free by the end of this year! I can hardly wait!
