Academy Mortgage - Salem in Salem, OR

I have waited over a year to do this review. I wanted to make sure that it wasn't emotional. My wife and I used Academy mortgage for our home loan. We were in a difficult situation due to me being in the military and stationed on the east coast. A lot of information had to be faxed or emailed. We had a horrible experience with Academy Mortgage. Our agent was absolutely worst at responding to us. She almost never responded to her voice mail and even email. It was my first home loan and it was not "smooth" at all. We did get the loan, but I would never use them again! They sold our loan before we ever made the first payment! I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!

Being new to Oregon and after many months of looking at homes for sale on line we were referred to Jessica from a real estate agent.  One call to Jessica and she had the ball rolling for us.  She understood our needs and our situation and worked hard to find us the best deal.  She was always available even though she is one busy lady.  Not only is she knowledgeable, she is extremely friendly.  We would definitely work with her again if we ever decided to sell.  We recommend Jessica wholeheartedly! My family has worked with Jessica McNeely for the past two-three years in obtaining the best possible deals for our mortgage needs. Great work is done by Travis and the Academy Mortgage team. These folks know their stuff. Travis was thorough, efficient, exceptionally knowledgeable and has been great to work with in every way. He is at the top of his game, always. Highly recommend!

Rates were at record lows when we went to purchase, 3.25 etc. Manager says he will watch the market to get the best rate and lock us in when he sees it. Went again to start the signing process and saw we were locked in at 4%. He was recommended from our Agent so no surprise customer was not put first. All the 5 stars were made around the same time. Really makes me wonder after the experience I had. Didn't even keep the loan, they say they hold onto 90% of the loans but of course they sold ours within a month.
