I have been doing buisness with Springleaf finance when it was the former American General finance, for several years, although interest rates are extremeley high if you do not have credit and knowone else will give you a chance to establish, Springleaf will probably be your best bet, at least they have given me the oppertunity. I have financed several vehicles through them and currently still . The staff has always been kind and curtious to me and easy to talk with . Over all opnion is good for those who are trying to establish credit .

I don't recommend doing business with them, My experience with Brie and Courtney ...well, it was comical at best. Enter the two stooges--Brie and Courtney. Brie (manager) forgot to schedule the auto deduction for last months (October payment), so when I noticed it failed to go through at my bank I called and spoke with Brie on the 15th of October. I think in order to cover her absence of mind, she then attempted a refinance with cash out, which I declined. But in the mean time I traded in the car for a new Toyota Corolla and Toyota Finance called Springleaf for the payoff on October 21. They spoke with Brie's crack assistant, Courtney, who managed to tell the Finance office the exact amount of payoff for Toyota to make the check out. By law Toyota has around 2 weeks to pay it off, which they put in escrow and its paying off as I type this. Now this is where it gets really comical, Brie, who managed to finally correctly schedule the direct pay from my checking account, well she had absence of mind again, she forgot to cancel it. LOL, She failed to cancel the direct pay after she was informed by Courtney, her co-worker, the loan was being paid off by Toyota. IT'S LIKE DEALING WITH PEOPLE THAT HAVE A BRAIN-CLOUD. Folks, in summary, they (Springleaf Financial) attempted to get 2 payments above what the payoff amount that was quoted by Courtney and being issued by Toyota Finance, by attempting an unauthorized ACH withdrawal from my checking account. Sheesh, I was able to do a stop pay, but you really need to be on your toes when dealing with these imbeciles at Springleaf. I don't think there was malice or that they intentionally did this, they just can't help themselves. Brie, in so many words indicated that my account was delinquent while waiting on the payoff from Toyota, but I had spoken with the manager of finance at Toyota 2 days earlier and had asked him that question and he said that while the payoff is in "escrow" they can't report any negative information. So, Brie the manager of Springleaf Financial, doesn't understand what Escrow means. I called a Manager of finance and told him of my concern that Brie may attempt to issue a negative on my credit, he told me if she does, i have legal recourse. Good Luck if you plan to run the gauntlet at Springleaf ! Its exhausting :-)

Don't ever borrow money from Springleaf unless you want to be hassled and threaten even though you are a great customer who pay's more than needed amt monthly. I was called one day after payment was due (although the statement states NOT PAST DUE UNTIL 10 July....and harassed and they threatened to sue me and take me to court!! Are you kidding me??? Just received my statement for this month and of course nothing is really due because I'm so far ahead BUT they charged me a $2.00 late fee from last month. I don't want any ad's - junk mail - anything from this company!! Customer support awful!!!
