I find it difficult to believe with all the choices in banking that a branch would allow their customer service to be so poor. While I like charter one, the branch on Howe Ave is terrible. Why would one associate be scheduled at lunch time when many customers need to use the bank quickly? Avoid this branch at all times if possible!

I had been a customer for a while now and wanted to open up a 2nd account. The bank manger told me that i would have overdraft protection between the 2 accounts and that if i ever went over it would just be taken from the other account. Well one day i mixed up the debit cards and over drew one of the accounts. They charged me $200 in fee's and called me a liar when i asked about it. The manager that was there when i opened the accounts is gone now, but the new one was very rude to me when i went in to ask about it. I have closed all my accounts with charterone and have moved to chase. Since doing that i have heard a lot of stories from other people who had similar problems. I don't recommend anyone use this fly by night bank.

Have been with Charter One Bank since age 18, when I first opened a personal account. They are ALL very nice, helpful, really go out of their way to assist you in any way they can, always greet you with a smile whether at their teller station or the drive thru. And...they have these adorable HELLO blocks at each station and in the window of the drive thru, that makes you instantly feel WELCOME. (Someone surely needs to tell me where I can get one for my office window sill - LOL) Some have such big personalities that we make a connection... but it is for ALL these reasons, that for 30 years now, I keep coming back. So H E L L O to ALL of you too - and keep up the good work, that helps your bank branch stand out!

I have been using this bank since i was 18. They are alway very helpful and take time out to explain anything i have questions about. I recently opened a savings account there and theu helped me get everything set up including automatic transfers. This bank has amazong customer service and are really helpful for new comers and answering questions.
