I have to differ with these positive reviews that are 2+ years old. After deciding to buy a new home, I decided to get pre-approval and compare mortgages. It took two weeks to have my inquiry email returned. When I tried to contact the officer, I got voice mail and (as of now, almost two weeks later) haven't received a return call. When I attempted to fill out the online application, I couldn't get past the FIRST page without contacting their technical support, and then I couldn't get past the THIRD page. This wasn't a problem with the two other local and one national institution to which I applied (and was approved). As a last resort, I contacted the EVP in charge of mortgages via an email form, and he replied asking for a time and number to contact me. You guessed it: NADA. I can't imagine how I'd be treated during the approval process, and how and/or if they'd ever get around to closing the loan. And oh - my FICO is 820+, with no debts, substantial income, and reasonable reserves. I wouldn't trust this bunch with a Christmas Club account.

I have gotten 3 mortgages/refinances through Home Trust and have been very impressed by the professionalism and courtesy of the bank. I have shopped around a lot and found their rates to be much better than the the vast majority of banks. Don't even bother with B of A or Wells Fargo. John Myers at Home Trust has been especially helpful in navigating the refinance process and I will be a customer for years to come.

Whatever you do don't go to Katie Lusk. She completely 100% lied to my face. I don't know if it was out of a complete lack of knowledge about her chosen profession or if it is a Home trust policy to lie to get your money. Whatever you do Don't trust this bank or this person.

Tried to get copies of checks that I've deposited and was told it is a minimum of 25$ an hour for the finding the record and getting the copies and 5$ per copy. Information that should be freely available to the consumer is kept by the bank and is used to charge the consumer more fees. Awful

First the good: the people there are very nice, at least the cashiers. Now the bad: keep getting "dear valued customer" letters, where they increase fees and increase fees and increase fees. Wish they didn't value me so much. 8/29/16 update: now cannot even get through when you call. direct line they provided is disconnected. Big bankness is destroying them.
