Building Trades Federal Credit Union in Shoreview, MN

My husband and I opened a loan at this bank and getting it set up was fine. Our first payment was due on the 15th so we set up with our other bank a payment to go out on the 10th, just to make sure it would get there in time and post to the account. On the 15th we noticed it hadn't posted. My husband called and was given three different answers from three different people. He called our bank to make sure it was sent and sure enough it was sent on the 8th days early to make sure it got there on the 10th. He called back again to building trades and was a little upset and wasn't very patient with them at this point as they said they didn't have it and had no options to even pay it any other way to make it not late. The manager ended up hanging up on my husband and told him to go back to his own bank if he loved them so much. Later that day they found the check and posted it to the account but didn't bother calling and letting us know; we saw it online later. I wrote to the manager and let him know about the situation and how rude his customer service was. He was just as rude and told me it was all our fault and his tellers weren't rude and my husband was out of line. Well he was upset and so was I and with different stories on how to fix it from everyone but no real helpful information. My husband and I ended up coming up with the money just to pay off this loan so we wouldn't have to deal with them for 3 years. The last time I had to deal with this company was just as upsetting. I forgot to stop the automatic payment until too late and off it went to building trades except we had closed all the accounts. Well I called and she was just as clueless as were all the other tellers there. She put me on hold to check with billing and came back and said oh they said it will pop back into my account like it came out. Well no I sent a check it didn't "pop" out of my account. But she insisted it would pop back into my other account. THAT day I went and got the mail and the check from building trades was in there!!! How is that not in the computer? How is that not known that they issued a check? These guys are clueless and rude!! STEER CLEAR!

I've had these guys for over 20 years. They have been very good to work with and understand how a construction workers life goes. I even moved my mortgage over to them. Great rates and easy to work with.
