I'm so glad I opened my accounts here. Any time I have a problem or need anything I just call or email them and they do their best to accommodate me. I especially appreciate Alyssa who works here. She is great and truly goes above an beyond to help me out. I appreciate everyone who works here.

This is the worst, most incompetent and cold bunch of people one could ever encounter in any business transaction! The Highland Park TruStone Branch completely deserves its many ratings of 1 and 2 stars it has received on YELP. This is the most incompetent, unfriendly branch of TruStone, which is saying a lot. These folks have no idea what the idea of customer service is and could care less about their customers as many of us have seen. I usually visit the Lyn Lake Branch which is actually very helpful and friendly. I’ve visited the Highland Park branch a couple of times before and always had a bad experience but I was in the neighborhood and thought, “Oh well, how bad can it be to go there just this once?” (I wrote a review a year and a half ago about an experience with the same “personal banker” who was very rude and dismissive when I went in to have some paperwork notarized. Believe me, this girl doesn’t learn). Well, today I went in to deposit a check written by my partner to cover two months’ mortgage since we were leaving the country for the bulk of the summer. I’d already set up the payment with my mortgage company to process for today. Since I often deposit my partner’s checks, (which never bounce, of course), I have never had them placed on hold. Once when I received a very large check because he was overseas, my Lyn Lake Bank verified funds, but this was a very large check. Anyway, I told the trainee that I needed the check to be available right away, and he couldn’t figure out how to make that happen. He asked his “trainer” who did not address me at all, the customer!!!, but told him to ask a banker. So this clueless trainee went to talk to a woman sitting in a desk typing away. She muttered something unhelpful and continued to sit on her can plucking away on her keyboard as if I wasn’t even there. I was the “ONLY” customer in the store at this time. I continued to explain that I needed to make sure the bank didn’t try to clear the mortage before the check was released, but the trainee, and more frighteningly, the Trainer, ignored me completely. The Trainer then told the Trainee that I should talk to a personal banker since they now had “ONE” other customer in line. They asked me to take a seat. The two women sitting at their desks continued to do busy work and ignore me so I thought they were clerks and that I was waiting for a real “personal banker” to come from another room. But, low and behold, after hearing me complain about customer service to my partner, the check writer, over the phone, the deadbeat who had been so rude a year before, snarkily asked the other woman sitting on her can ignoring me, to help me. She exchanged a few snarky comments and a facial expression that said, “Work with this customer for me please.” So finally, after being ignored by people who should have been able to help “ONE” customer solve a problem, the other woman called me over to tell me that there was nothing she could or would do. She said that although the Lyn Lake Branch called my partner’s bank to verify funds, she was not capable of doing so. At least she explained that the Mortgage payment would not go through until the funds were released anyway based on typical processing hours. Although she wasn’t very friendly or customer savvy either, at least she made the effort to communicate this. On the way out I noticed these two catty “personal bankers” making an eye rolling thing about their “difficult” customer which I was not. I have been a member of this credit union for over 20 years, and while I think all of the branches and the institution itself have gone downhill, this branch is by far the worst. And apparently, they don’t even care. They have many low ratings, much lower than other branches, but this “personal banker”, the one that sits in the second desk from the entrance, continues to ignore and insult customers.

Friendly staff, but if you are looking to take a loan , credit card, secure loan or any financial support don't open an account or apply for loan with Truestone because most likely they denied it or will be highly interest rate. I had an account with them for more than a year with no loan, I applied for a small loan , my credit score was average with full time job, my monthly income almost 2 times more than the amount I applied for , after 3 days I got reply that they prefer a secure loan and asked about my vehicle details , then after 2 days denied it again because my vehicle wasn't good enough for them. The next day I applied with another credit union and next day proved the amount I wanted as unsecure loan with less interest 9.99%. So I closed my account with True Stone . Note : the staff are very friendly but they can't make decision that support you , they can open accounts, close accounts , take applications only .
