Michigan Legacy Credit Union in Wyandotte, MI

I do not recommend this credit union to anyone. After many years at another credit union, my husband and I decided to switch to a credit union closer to our new home. We love Wyandotte and wanted to keep as much of our business as possible in our city. We transferred our used car loan there, as well. They have caused us multiple problems since we have been members. We deposited a check from my husbands 401k into our account. No one told us that they would put a hold on it or we would have taken it elsewhere. The check was not out of state or written. It was from a well-known bank. Anyway, we use their bill pay service and had our mortgage coming out two days later. The hold they placed on our money caused them not only to not pay the mortgage but also to charge us a $30 fee. It was at their disgresion wether to send the money. They could have informed us or payed the bill the next day when the hold was released. They put you on hold with this terrible repetitive music and leave you there for long periods of time. They say that they extended their phone hours but when you call after 5 they send your call to a call center and those people have no authority to do anything they just take a message. By far the worst thing was when, due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to declare bankruptcy. We had a car loan with them and continued to pay our payments. We even called and told them that we would sign reaffirmation papers. When a few days later we got our tax return

The hold time for calling in is horrible. The people who work there are very nice! wish they would get their call center together, no one has all day to wait on the phone!

Excellent bank. And im not an employee. Im a dispatcher. This bank helped me out when i got scammed by a bad check and let me make payments instead if taking it all at once which would have left my bills unpaid. Thanks mich legacy.
