Our business usually will not accept checks from Regions Bank because the bank will not divulge any information concerning their accounts. The bank will not verify if the account has sufficient funds to cover the check or even verify that the account is active. We are forced to assume that the checking account is non-existant. We recently accepted a Regions Bank check from a customer who had done business with our company for almost seven years. The store manager telephoned me for approval rather than refuse a long-time customer's check. The check was returned marked "Stopped Payment" with no other explanation. The bank would not tell me the date that the customer stopped payment, verify the customer's address, or even verify if the account was open. Regions lack of cooperation can cause businesses to loose money and customers. To limit these losses our company will refuse any check drawn on Regions Bank. I urge other businesses to do the same. Need local number! Nobody wants to talk to someone in a different state who has no idea

Convenient arm location. But it wouldn't be a great night arm stop.
