Commerce Bank in Champaign, IL

Incompetent. Recently married, I went in to change my name on the account in January 2011. I spent about 45 minutes in the guy's office, filling out what certainly seemed like more paperwork than it took to open the account, and to this day they have yet to actually make the change. I've had bad experiences in Commerce Banks from Kansas City to Champaign- many of their policies have annoyed and inconvenienced me over the years but their presence throughout the region I inhabited and traveled kept me tied in. I've finally had enough and am switching all of my accounts to a local credit union. Stay away.

I have been with Commerce shortly after they opened in Champaign a few years ago. Their opening was highly anticipated as there are few banks in Champaign that aren't exclusive to the city or state. The staff is very friendly and professional and the location is always spotless inside and out. I just wish they had a better online banking interface.

Stellar customer service! It has the feel of a small town bank, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and professional. Very personal service.
