RedRock Mortgage Iowa in West Des Moines, IA

We went with RedRock Mortgage for a home + renovation loan (a HUD program) because our credit union and many other banks do not do these types of loans. Julie Calder is the only person that specializes in these loans with Red Rock Mortgage. We should have sought legal counsel from day one. Julie proved to be unorganized, did not promptly or accurately respond to emails or questions, and did not share all documents with us that we had signed. When nearing the end of our renovation project and I had inquired as to how much of the budget we had left. Julie kept replying, "I'm checking on that" and we never got an answer. I finally did the math myself and told her how much we had left. She replied, "Where did you get that number?" I said, "I'm looking at the bid you sent me and I did the math." She responded, "Oh, well I've been looking at the wrong document the entire time." Our closing date was delayed more than two weeks because her "team was a mess". The problem is that they hire team members from all over the US. People in Oklahoma were asking for our employment records and people in Texas were looking over our W2s. There is no clear communication between buyer and lender causing tension and turmoil for the buyer. I would not wish our experience with RedRock Mortgage upon my worst enemy.

Working with RedRock Mortgage has been an absolute pleasure. They are consistently professional, knowledgeable & friendly. From the moment I step in their office I know I will be treated with respect & receive outstanding customer service. Absolutely recommend.

After going to a bank and a credit union my wife and I, per a friend's suggestion, called Red Rock. For the first time we felt like someone actually wanted our business. We are middle class with a middle class size mortgage. Not a multi million dollar house but they treated my family like we were.
