Terrible interest rates and they charge as much as they can to get you in and out.

Don't do a pre approval through them. They will run your credit through multiple agencies before they even contact you.

Some of the dirtiest people in the financial business......I will never use them again,nor will I ever buy a car from carmax! Outrageous interest rates and terrible service all the way around......on my vehicle and the loan! The absolute worst experience I've ever been through!

I found Carmax auto finance to have shady practices. Loans have high interest and loan officers are obnoxious. They obviously don't need business as they are running everyone away.

On 8/10/16, I called CarMax to let them my payments would be late because I had been in and out of the hospital. I let them know that the account would be paid up as soon as I was out of the hospital and home. I was told that they'd give me a call if any issues arose. On 9/5/16, I was admitted back into the hospital with no way of calling them. I received no phone calls. On 9/9/16, my car had been repossessed. Despite my best efforts at communicating, CarMax repossessed the car and fined me for it. The very same day I went into labor with no way to get to the hospital suddenly because CarMax didn't receive $270.00. My labor was an hour long and my son was almost born on the sidewalk outside of a birthing center. CarMax put my life and my son's life in danger over a petty amount of money. Not to say any amount would justify the situation. To make matters worse, when I did call to get everything straightened out and the car back I had to speak with several different people on several different occasions, telling my story over and over and over. I eventually did speak with a manager who assured me that he would call me back. I'm still waiting for that call. I am now owing another $600.00 in repossession fees on top of an already high car loan. I will never use CarMax or suggest CarMax to anyone ever. It's not worth the risk.
