Grow Financial Federal Credit Union: Gulf to Bay Store in Clearwater, FL

Always have been everything I wanted and needed in a bank . have gone out of there way to assist me in areas I knew little about and have been great on service . when my cards were lost they got them to me quickly and efficiently...only reason not a five star is I still hold a lil resentment about holding my checks a week for first month .other than that superb!!

Went here to get a replacement card. The representative was very nice and professional. The branch was very clean. I was in and out in 15 minutes, if that.

With my serious distrust of banks, I've gone 10+ years without using one. The down side is that I have no credit at all... No history what so ever. Alas, I need to establish credit, so I am offered bot secured credit card, and secured loan. SO for starters I'll try the credit card. They're quick to take money out of my account for almost a month, and I've yet to see anything on the Visa Secured Credit card. Must be common practice to take money out and hold on to it before setting anything up. Perhaps this was some sort fluke of bad luck... About a week ago I had asked to take out two[2] secured loans for $500 each. A total of $1000. After the last issue[with the secured credit card], I was certain and assured there wouldn't be any issues. Now reviewing my account, I see only one loan. What happened to the other? Is it hiding? This would be the second time dealing with Growth Financial whereas I asked, and was told one thing, and something different had occurred. Are there other avenues of communication for the bank that are clearer, be it certified mail/notarized document/ transcription? I had heard great things, with growth financial, but the only uneventful event was opening the account. I should have read these reviews before opening the account. Now I am posting my own review in hopes that another sucker like me doesn't make the same mistake.

I had the pleasurable opportunity to deal with Phynedra Little this past Friday. It made me wonder everyone asks to complete a survey on the person they spoke to on the phone. What about those we meet person to person. I was a banker for 29 years proudly advancing from teller to Assistant Treasurer and know what it means to have someone appreciate the effort of one on one. She was a jewel to do business with and I will be doing more because of her. So easy to complain, so "have not time" to compliment. Good job Phynedra. Oh, nice office.

This is not a review, but a question that I can't pose without a rating, so here goes: I was a long time member with M FCU, and my son is now a member with Grow Financial. I can't figure out why Grow Financial can't be found on the NCUA Credit Union Finder. And why are reviews being answered by "the owner"? Used to be that members were the owners. Has that changed? I have an adult son in Utah who needs my help at times. He is a member of a CU there. Do you have interactive service, where I can deposit funds for him - and how long would it take before he'd have access to them? Thanks. Helen
