TD Bank in Southbury, CT

I am completely disgusted by TD Bank. On January 15th Tibor Molnar from Shelton wrote me a check for $700. I went to this TD Bank branch the next day and asked to cash it. It turned out that the check was bad. They called their customer "Tibor Molnar" who told them that he does not know me and he did not write me any checks. Tibor Molnar, the son who wrote the check has a father of the same name, and they are living at the same address. What happened is that either the son wrote me a bad check from his dad's account, or his dad was aware from the get go and covered up for his son while on the phone with the bank. I told the teller, that writing a bad check is fraud and that I am going to talk to Molnar to make this right, but if he does not, that I am going to take him to court, and told her to keep this check on file as an evidence. Molnar strung me along for another month promising payment, but it never happened. Couple days ago I contacted this branch, spoke over the phone to Danielle. I told her that I will need the check the teller took from me on the January 16th, because I am talking Molnar to court. She said that she is not showing any records of this this incident, and that she needs to speak to the teller who took it from me. She called me back later and told me that in this particular case the check was destroyed. I asked her how is it possible, because I told the teller on the 16th that a potential check fraud was committed and they just went ahead and destroyed the only original evidence I had. She gave me a mouthful of our policy is this, and our policy is that. I told them that it is a bad policy to cover up for a check fraud and asked to speak to someone from their legal department to at least give me a written statement from the teller regarding this issue so that I have something to take to the police and to the court. The person from their legal department contacted me couple days later. I told her that since they destroyed the original evidence / the bad check, they should help me out. She gave me a similar mouthful of our policy is this, our policy is that, and that this bad check issue is just between Molnar and me. I told her that since it was a TD Bank check and their teller destroyed the evidence, that it is also their issue. I told her that if they are not going to help me out in any way, that I am going to write this review. She told me to do whatever I want. I called police to Molnar's house recently, and in the near future I am taking him to small claims court for the $700. I am also implementing our new company policy not to accept checks from TD Bank customers. From now on whenever our customer wants to write a TD Bank check, I am going to show them this review on my smart phone, and explain to them that this is the reason not to accept any checks from TD Bank, and I will ask them for a cash payment instead.

The Friendliest bank, especially with Rich! He is so nice to everyone! I mainly go there for him though.
