Scient Federal Credit Union in Groton, CT

All I can say is good luck.

I bought 2 vehicles using SFCU as the lending institution. The rates were competitive and everything was good until they sold the loans to Charter Oak within a year which really annoyed me. Then I started getting letters about a checking account that was incurring "fees" that I never asked for that was probably buried in the fine print of the auto loan paperwork. If you are going to use Scient for auto loans, make sure you have an open and active account. Apparently, they will be less likely to dump your loans which impacts your credit score and is a major inconvenience. If you have Navy Fed or another lending institution that you are already happy with, stick with them even if Scient offers a slightly better rate.

Horrible! Teller told me i could skip a payment on my truck loan. Than i get a letter saying my payments late. Than another woman on the phone told me not to worry just a glich. Than i get another letter saying iam still late. Now they wont accept any blame. Tell me i skipped to many. It took three weeks for them to figure out. Now i show a late payment. Trying to buy a house totally screwed me. Offered no help to resolve issues.

Got my car loan from them when nobody else would be flexible with terms. Good service and great people! Glad I did business with them!

I do not write reviews, but in balance I must say I have had no complaints about Scient and before that Ledge light...I have used them for car loans, equity loans, line of credit , mortgages, refinancing banking, savings, checking..and yes even cashing in the proverbial extra change before going on vacation.. they know me/ my family they are friendly, courteous. Even when we had an issue, they were quick to resolve it. Based on my experience they a re entitled to the highest accolades
