Finex Credit Union in East Hartford, CT

Normally I would not choose to write a review for a bank or anything else for that matter, but I'm taking the time today after reading some other reviews to post up some observations about my credit union. First the appearance or condition of the credit union, as others have described it is somewhat inaccurate, while yes the building is older and could certainly stand a face lift this is a small local credit union and lets face it I would much rather have the profits of the bank going towards the 3% interest I receive on my checking account than fancy marble tiles or beautifully landscaped grounds. Next, I have found the customer service to greatly exceed my expectations. I have done a lot of business with member services, most notable Courtney, Marjorie, Chris, and Lou and I can tell you that they have been very helpful whenever I have needed them. The tellers at the counter have always been very polite and courteous. The only areas where I see much room for improvement would be A) answering the phone or returning phone calls promptly when your calling member services and B) some of the internal policies regarding lending (long story). Outside of that I have no gripes with anyone that I have dealt with in any capacity at the credit union. Bottom line if your looking for a great place to do banking, receive one of the highest rates of return on a checking account, and have a quick helpful banking staff to assist you with all your loan/banking needs then First New England Federal Credit Union is the bank for you. Oh and one last thing...having all outside ATM fees refunded to you each month is pretty sweet too! Jason N.

Their Manchester branch inside Shop Rite is pointless... The hot blonde 18 yo cares more about playing on her phone than working and they don't wash their carpets. Their new carpets are filthy. You would think a credit union could hire some Mexicans for cheap to keep the place clean!

I've been a member since the early 80's when it was the Teachers CU, then First New England CU and now Finex. It appears that I am very satisfied with All of these credit unions. In all these years, I have always been satisfied with the services and friendly, helpful staff.

Been with this back over 15 years. This bank has NEVER denied me for any loans. I loved the in person loan applications rather then some banks that give you a 7-10 in mail answer. I agree with the other comment, the Shop Rite location is useless. Anytime I needed something they would just call the east hartford location anyway or point me to the video teller. Not sure what this bank is up to with the video tellers... i am NOT a fan of them. They are losing that person to person feel that i loved about.
