Money Mart in Oakland, CA

I went to this place and the staff was very rude and unproffessional. the line was about 20 minutes long and there were only three people ahead of me. there is a western union in the rite aid around the corner thats fast clean and friendly. its also safer since the money mart on 15th has homeless people hanging in front of the building, some of them were peeking their heads inside to see who had money or was getting money so they can follow you around and hit you up for changs. do not go here you could get mugged the service sucks and there is a much better western union around the corner at the ritaid

No need to hate on the staff. Does exactly what the place is supposed to do.

I lost my wallet, and came here to cash a personal check. I thought it would be easy! Had a check, had a passport, went to a check cashing place. No line, walked right up to the counter. Somehow thought the process for cashing a $50 check took about half an hour.... Fill out an application, call the bank, call Money Mart headquarters, making photocopies of passport and application, and check. The teller also had to keep stopping to answer location phone.... It should not be this hard! Go somewhere else if at all possible!
