First Guaranty Mortgage Corporation (FGMC) in Vienna, VA

No follow up our Customer Service. Their Mortgage Service Company (Roundpoint) made an error that is going to result in our Mortgage going up over $600 a month. They assured me that someone from both First Guaranty and from Roundpoint would be contacting me. All I received is letter on what my payoff would be. So in other words pay us off and go away. In the process of contacting an Attorney and looking to refinancing with another Lender.

I had the WORST experience with this company. They contacted me after I initiated a refinance with a different company. The sleazeball was able to convince me to let them refinance my mortgage instead of the new company. Well, to make a long story short- They screwed up the paperwork and never informed me that they were not going to be able to close my loan. They forced me to pay 3 months mortgage in 1 week after telling me I would go 2 months without a payment. This company is a money-grabbing joke. There is absolutely no level of customer service. I would highly recommend not using this company.

DO NOT OBTAIN ANY TYPE OF LOAN THROUGH FGMC!!!! First Guaranty Mortgage is not a bad company by any means and will help you obtain a great loan. However, they utilize Roudpoing Servicing to service their loans and they are horrible!!!! They have failed to pay my property taxes and placed a 30 day lat derogatory remark on my credit from their customer service agents giving me false information. I fought the incident for 6 months, the initially agreed it was their fault and that it should be removed but now have decided they arent going too. They have a faulty system that takes forever to show your payments cleared, so if there is a issue there is a chance you wont notice until its too late.

Don't Trust them!!!. They are not professional and responsive. I worked with Rob McMain. After doing all process he was not responded on the options and mortgage that I can get.

Got farmed out to these people because our actual lender wasn't certified to do VA loans. I cannot imagine a worse, more frustrating, or more pointless waste of time than dealing with this company. Almost ten months after signing a purchase agreement and they haven't been able to get their heads out of their third point of contacts long enough for us to close. They have ZERO customer service or communication skills, nor do they seem to care in the slightest that they even accomplish their jobs. Walking away from them has been the biggest relief, and I regret not doing it months ago. If I could rate them lower than one star, I would. Steer clear of them at all costs. So happy that they're not getting a dime from us.
