Good business. Nice, respectful employees. Too much car exhaust fumes due to extremely busy parking lot and winds that blow car exhaust fumes directly up into each business giving employees severe migraine headaches often. ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTION: Mall needs to construct separation wall between parking & store entrances. A BRICK OR STONE FACED WALL stretching across the front of each business entry, in front of businesses, should be higher than mall roofline or divert airflow back out to street. Architects could build it to include an OUTDOOR PATIO WITH GARDEN'S INCLUDED on business side of the wall. With very few 'access-enabled' pass-throughs from the parking lot. Wall can be constructed 4-to-6 ft. out from existing edge of concrete walkway (taking up only that much of existing parking lot area) with drop-off lane repositioned on parking lot side of wall with 2-to-3 designated drop-off points for duration of 5-to-8 minutes each vehicle and posted signage stating such. Additional signage: "No idling vehicle in drop-off zones". Tall but short rooted, trees can line along wall facing business entrances to further block airflow and absorb toxic exhaust fumes. Garden bed's can be interspersed with outdoor seating & tables made of weatherproof concrete. I only pray this solution reaches the right individuals that can authorize & build it for the benefit of all consumers who frequent this busy, high-trafficked mall at 442 S. Cummings Street in Abingdon, Virginia. I also pray that every citizen in Abingdon will support it and vote for it. The end result will encourage more customers to visit and transact more business.
