Aaron Fritz and his crew did a wonderful job in helping me with my first home buying experience. They made it so easy. They went out of their way to insure that we had all the support we needed. I would definitely use and refer all of my friends to Aaron at Academy Mortgage.

All around, Academy mortgage was just a pain to deal with. It seems like the loan officer just loved to talk talk talk, but never addressed the actual concerns I brought up when I called. He would talk for 30 minutes without me getting a word in edgewise if I didn't interrupt and talk over him to try and get something across. In every step of the process, we found errors in the documents that they prepared. In the very first sit-down, we found they had put us down for a 400k mortgage instead of a 240k mortgage, and they had put us down for a 20% down payment instead of 10%. We should have taken that as a warning sign and run away, but they seemed so friendly we went ahead. This trend continued throughout the process. Every time we received a document we found boxes unchecked, numbers written incorrectly, and they always promised to fix it in the next set of papers. Some things were still written wrong even in the semi-final draft of the agreement we received 3 days before signing. It took almost 40 days to close our loan, when we had originally been told 3 weeks. They would tell us "we'll get back to you on that tomorrow," or "next week," and yet they would not call us or email us again unless we called and left several messages first, and then it was still a day or two later. By the time we were finally able to close, we had to pay almost an extra $800 to keep the original rate we had locked in, because it had expired and had to be renewed. Academy Mortgage did not consult us or inform us of this possibility beforehand, it just suddenly showed up as an extra charge on our papers, which in my opinion is unacceptable. We were tempted at that point to throw the deal out the window, find another lender, and cut our losses, but we persisted. All these things added together made this a very unpleasant experience. Yes, they sent us a gift basket with some random candy in it a few months later, but that is not nearly enough to make up for the frustration we went through. I asked if they could give us a discount anywhere else to make up for having to pay a fee to keep our rate locked, and they just said no. All in all, they seemed unprofessional with their numerous typos and incorrect figures, broken promises and chatterbox mannerisms. Nice enough people, but not who you want to work with on many pages of financial documents.

Extremely professional, personable, and helpful! Buying a home for the first time is a little scary. There are so many unknowns and it is completely new territory to navigate through. Having someone who can guide you through the process in a kind and helpful way makes a huge difference. Rhett Weaver went above and beyond for us in answering our questions and concerns in a timely manner. I would never recommend another mortgage company over Academy. Our experience was fantastic and they made it simple. The update videos that they would email to us about our progress through the process helped us very easily understand where we were and what was needed from us to move on to the next step.

Rhett was awesome! Everything was taken care of early and he answered every question that I had, no matter how dumb of a question it was! This was a seamless and painless process due to Academy Mortgage understanding the whats and whens, as well as the Rhett and his team providing such excellent service!

Arron, Logan and Gloria, were the best people to work with, They made this whole process so much better for me. They are patient and understanding of peoples feeling which is rare when dealing with finances, They always made me feel better when I was so completely stressed out. I would recommend all of them to everyone wanting to purchase a house. I am so grateful to all of them.
