CashMax Title & Loan in Lufkin, TX

I really needed a $700 loan for rent because I'd just been hired at a new job but wouldn't get my check in time to pay my rent. Most loan places do title and payday loans and I had an issue with both: I don't own the title to my car and, although I have a checking account, I don't use personal checks (I use my debit card for everything). A friend recommended CashMax to me because she'd gotten a payday loan there with a temporary check. She said she got $800 from them. Just to make sure, I called CashMax and asked them if they took temporary checks for a $700 payday loan and they told me that they do. I went in the next day. My very first issue was how rude the employee who waited on me was. She didn't say a word to me when I came in (I was the only person in the store, so she wasn't waiting on anyone else) and when she finally acknowledged me, all she did was tell me to sit. She then handed me a form and said fill it out. When I had questions, she seemed annoyed that I had interrupted her surfing on her computer. As I filled out the paperwork, I pulled out the documents I needed, including the temporary check, which I told her I would be using. Again, I was told that a temporary check is fine. I spent 30 minutes waiting for her to input all of my information into their system. About 5 minutes of that time was spent listening to her debate with someone on the phone as to where they should go for lunch. This really irritated me. Finally, she finished up with the paperwork and informed me that I could only get $100 loan with a temporary check. She even went as far to say that she could have told me before I'd even started filling anything out that the most they do is $100 with temp checks! So I was lied to multiple times and straight to my face, plus I wasted about an hour of my time. To add insult to injury, she then told me that she ***could*** call her lender to see if they would approve it, but she wasn't going to because she already knew he would say no. I can understand that she came to this conclusion based on previous experiences, but I wanted her to call anyway, if only so I could waste her time like she wasted mine. So DO NOT go to CashMax in Lufkin. The customer service is awful, the employees obviously aren't monitored (she was the only employee in the place), and they straight-up lie to you in order to get your information.
