Received a check from my grandparents for my birthday and decided to try to cash it here. This is a transcript of the conversation I had with the elderly gentleman behind the counter. Me: Hi, I'd like to cash this (presenting him with my driver's license and the check with "Happy Birthday! From Nana Carolyn and Papa Ken" in the memo). Him: (glances at the check) I'm not going to be able to cash this. Me: Why not? Him: I don't know who this is and I don't know who you are. Me: Do you only serve people you know personally? Him: I told you my qualifications and you don't meet them. Me: Actually, you didn't. What are your qualifications and why don't I meet them? Him: I can't help you. Bye. I certainly won't be doing business with this place or the Texico it's attached to ever again.
