SmartNote in Austin, TX

I had automatic payments set up through SmartNote on an auto loan for over a year. For convenience purposes, I recently changed to a more local bank. I filed the proper paperwork for the loan information to use the new account at the bank holding the loan and payments were being processed as usual. Instead of contacting me, the account holder, about invalid banking information through SmartNote (which was no longer in use), the company somehow acquired the contact information of close relatives. As I just found out, they have been harassing my relatives for several days stating that there's an issue with the account but that they cannot disclose any further information because they are not on the account. If SmartNote was capable to contact the PRIMARY account holder, then I guarantee this would not have turned into an issue. I am now being forced to pay a processing and late fee on the account for their incompetence.
