National Pawn Co in Sioux Falls, SD

Pawned a chainsaw when we needed a little money for a little bit, when it was taken in it was clean and practically brand new (bought during April ice storm and used twice). Upon paying it off and taking it out of the case, it was full of sawdust, chunks of tree branches, completely void of oil and the chain was destroyed. Very disappointed as they obviously allowed it to be used whether it be known or unknown to management. It's a brand new chainsaw worth $200, used twice by owners and now we have to spend more money to replace the chain.

OK selection, high, like new prices on used stuff. Sometimes you will find a steal.

Always treat you fair...don't kick you when your down obviously if your trying to get a loan on something your down! Very understanding and willing to work with you! Only wish they stayed open later one or two nights a week!!!

I have recently moved to Sioux Falls and decided to check out a few pawn shops this afternoon. Upon entering I browsed around for a few minutes before asking one of the pawn brokers to assess some jewelry I had acquired at an estate auction a few years prior that I was interested in selling. Although he was friendly and accommodating, I could tell that he knew very little about purchasing jewelry. A coworker who I presume was the manager on duty at the time checked some of the diamonds in my jewelry with a diamond tester. They were consistently getting conflicting results from their diamond testers and kept having to swap them out for different testers. They would spend time examining the stone through a loop for a period of time (even though they had no idea what they were doing) and then would use the diamond tester again. At this point I decided to not bother trying to sell them anything that had diamonds. When it came to the few pieces that were solid gold they offered me only 30% of the net gold value at current market price. I understand this business and the need to make a profit, but I can't imagine why anyone would practically give away their gold jewelry at this price. Many dealers will pay twice this for gold scrap, keeping in mind the jewelry I was selling was wearable and suitable for resale. Upon my deciding that we weren't going to be able to make a deal, the gentleman who I assume to be the manager on duty rudely butted in and said, "Well we don't do free appraisals." It was never my intent to have a free appraisal done on the jewelry. I came into the store with intent to sell if the offer was in any way fair at all. Save yourself the frustration if you ever plan on selling any jewelry and do it anywhere but here. I don't feel like I am a hard person to impress, but this place was absolutely ridiculous.

Very friendly atmosphere. I enjoy going there even if I have no business for them. Very down to earth staff and they are willing to work with you.
