Peoples Bank Mortgage in North Charleston, SC

I'm normally not a person to write reviews but the experience that I had with People's Bank has forced me to get out of my comfort zone and share the experience that I had with People's Bank. I would like to say that we had just came out of bankruptcy and that no traditional bank would even consider us for a loan. We received a letter in the mail from People's Bank stating that they could help us. We were discouraged and didn't want to pursue it but my husband decided to go out on a limb and give them a call. To our surprise the loan office stated that he could help us get a home. We weren't convinced but we went along with him and I will tell you he delivered on his promise and we ended up closing on our home about 60 days after we started the process. I thank God for People's Bank as they have put us back on the road to home ownership and most importantly delivered on the promise that they could help us. If you are dealing with financial issues and you don't think it's possible please give them a call and they will be upfront with you on what they can and can't do. I will look forward to doing business with them in the future and will be referring family and friends to them as they have the same terms and interest rates that big banks have but a family oriented feel that has truly blessed me and my family. I am grateful that I received an introduction letter from Peoples Bank over a year ago. I had just come out from bankruptcy and home ownership did not seem like a possibility for me any time in the future. However, at my husband's insistence, I called. I spoke with Mike and he was extremely helpful. He told me exactly what to do to bring up my credit score. Need less to say, about 9-10 months later, I called him again. A short time later, I was a homeowner. I cannot stress enough how grateful I am to Peoples Bank and all the employees I worked with there. Every one of them was knowledgeable, helpful, encouraging, and simply a pleasure to deal with. If anyone is looking for a bank to help them restore their home ownership, Peoples Bank is the one. With my financial background, I did not think I would be able to obtain a mortgage but People's Bank assured me it was possible and helped me to navigate the process. Danny was extremely helpful and responsive working with me even on weekends to assure my paperwork was moving and getting me the best interest rate. I had the best experience dealing with People Bank, particularly, with Frank Linden who was not only professional, but very easy to reach with all my annoying questions even on week-ends-thank you so much Frank! Once the process started, getting all the paper work gathered (usually this is a painful process) was pretty easy and efficient. Bought my house, closed on time, and I was very pleased with the entire experience-I highly recommend Peoples Bank.

After a humiliating experience of going through a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, Kenny at Peoples Bank offered me the opportunity to obtain a mortgage for a new home only 2 months after the bankruptcy discharged. All other banks and credit unions require a waiting period of 1-2 years. It took a couple of months to close on the loan because I was also dealing with a "zombie" home in Florida that my name needed to be removed from prior to FHA approval of the loan. That proved to be a long and frustrating process; however, Kenny and Marilyn never gave up on me and guided me through the steps necessary to accomplish this. (My advice to anyone who has experienced a bankruptcy where the bank never foreclosed on the home (zombie home), is to clear that matter up first before attempting to secure a new mortgage.) Otherwise, the process went smoothly and I would recommend Peoples Bank highly for those who are ready to move forward in life after bankruptcy. The interest rate was pretty good too at 4.5%.
