South State Bank in Myrtle Beach, SC

Very rude customer service employee. I went to First Federal with my son who wanted to open his first savings account. The customer service lady (working Thursday May 3rd 2012 at 4:30 pm, tall with dark hair) informed me that I would need to give her my 10 yr old sons social security number tom open a childrens savings account so I expressed my concerns and asked why he needed to give his ssn if they had mine. My 8 yr old daughter had her social security number stolen years ago and it took 3 year for the IRS to finally stop some one else from claiming my daughter on their taxes so I never give my children ssn. When I explained this to the lady she implied in front of my son that the only people that don't want to give their social security numbers are people that are doing something dishonest. I was very offended and me and my children will never do business at the First Federal in Socastee SC again! It was not a very good experience for my son's first bank.

My father has been a long-time client of this branch of First Federal. Within the past 3 months, while caring for Dad after his hip surgery, I have had several opportunities to visit the Socastee Branch and every single visit was a fantastic experience. I would like to point out one banker in particular Jacqueline who has taken extra special time and effort with Dad and me. We are always greeted when we enter the branch and treated like we are the only people (the most important people) in the world while we are there. This location bank has to be the worst of all the south state banks. Every other I'll give stars. This branch has rude tellers that has refused to take $100 on 50 cent coins and and was slow at the time. And now I deposit money and I just happened to check my acct. And theye took $ out. It just boggled my mind how it can happen. You give them money to deposit and they call it withdrawal and not get anything back. Well I'm donew with this branch. All of the others in Myrtle Beach are way much nicer and courteous.
