I have cashed multiple checks from the same bank account, and have been a member for several years, and wood forest took it upon themselves to put a seven day hold on my check. The worst part is the money is for a church roof I'm currently working on. Now the people of the church think I'm pulling a fast one because I can't finish until Tuesday of next week. I hope someone sees this and I keep you from making the same mistake I did. Think twice before opening an account at woodforest .

Closing my accounts after 7 years. Took in a CASH deposit of $800, filled out my deposit slip with my account number. Somehow my $800 cash "accidentally" got put in someone elses account! Thank God I kept my receipt and checked my account right after I left and noticed the money wasnt there. The manager tried to tell me the teller must have "mixed up account numbers" -- HOW? I gave her a deposit slip with MY account number and cash. Very fishy to me. I think she knew it was cash and if I didnt notice it... Id have no way to prove I made the deposit. Stay away from this branch!

My experience with woodforest bank has been nothing but hassle, and headache. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your account started, much like used car salesmen. I have received multiple $2.00 "service fees" in the same day amounting to $22.00 on multiple occasions. When I brought said fees to the attention of the staff there was no explanation or reimbursement of my funds. My debit card has been "compromised" severeal times resulting in zero remote access to my money, with no compensation for the hassle. In short, horrible bank.
