Richie's Pawn Central in Middletown, OH

It's labeled as a "Guitar Shop" on Google? More like a "Junk Shop" with overpriced crap. Go here if you like being taken advantage of and ripped off. The large, rude ginger man seems to find it hard to muster up enough energy to answer simple questions over the phone or push a few buttons on their 1960's computer system to give accurate information that customers need. It's always "I don't know" or "You'll have to check back later". He can't even get up out of the chair, which he seems permanently attached to, to grab an item from the back. I think they had to hire an assistant to do any physical moving, such as standing up, for him. No, he's not handicapped, just big and lazy. His assistant probably gets paid well though, considering they rob their customers for every penny they can. Also, if you have the same last name as a former customer who they have added to their "Do Not Pawn" list (whether you say know the person or not), you will possibly be turned down when trying to pawn an item. Hope your last name isn't Smith! Sometimes though, all Richie's employees get to take a week long vacation at the same time, but are too lazy to hang a sign on the door or leave a message on their answering machine to inform their customers of their temporary leave. Hopefully those vacation days aren't the days any of your fees are due for a pawned item, because they would probably say you didn't pay on time and steal your property. I beg anyone who is considering Richie's to walk away. No, run! If you have any sense, you will heed my advice. I have dealt with many pawn shops and this is BY FAR the most inconsiderate, unsympathetic, laziest bunch of people I have ever met. Don't say I didn't warn you!

I went in Richie's today to try to sale 2 gold bullion coins. I had already checked the price of gold before I went, so I would know a fair price for what I had. As I waited to be served, I looked around the store to see grossly over priced items. (Almost $600 for a used TV that I could buy new for $499!) When the employee got around to me, He tried to scam me! He told me that what I had were Gold "Clad" coins, & he would only be able to give me $5 each for them. I should have walked out then, but I stayed & showed him that these coins were in fact Gold Bullion & not some "Clad" coins. I also explained to him that I knew the price of Gold & I know that they have to make money too. His next offer, was $30 for BOTH coins! The employee insulted my intelligence & tried to act like I should be grateful for his low ball offer!!! I left, drove to another gold dealer & was able to sale both coins for over $150! The only reason I gave them 1 star is because a lower score was not an option! So if you are looking for over priced junk or you are looking to be robbed, this is your store.. I strongly advise everyone else to look elsewhere!

Used to be a great place but they are way over priced now. Sad.

I wish i didnt have to give this place one star. Go to the Treasure Chest on central ave instead. You will get a way better deal. All you will get from Richies is a headache.

Always have been nothing but kind and fair. They go above and beyond to help their customers out. I don't always agree with the value they come up with, but they listen and are willing to reconsider their initial offer.
