Towpath Credit Union in Fairlawn, OH

Towpath cu has horrible customer service now.. They were very helpful and courteous at the North Main St. office years ago, but now whomever answers the phones on Smith Rd and the loan officers are rude and inconsiderate. I am closing my account and would not recommend them to anyone!

I have found the employees and managers very willing to help and go above and beyond the big banks when it comes to assisting with any money problems and making me feel welcome.

Relevant info: I have a decent job and a decently high credit score. There were several points in the loan approval process when information was sprung on me rather than being up front and informing me from the beginning. Lots of cheap "I'm sorry"s and broken promises. I did what I could to accomodate their ever-changing requirements, but in the end I gave up. All of the requirements were things the loan officer was aware of prior to filing the loan; they just elected to only tell me as they arose rather than making me aware from the beginning and allowing me to make my own educated decision. Definitely wasn't worth the hassle and now I have a useless credit hit. Edit: Did return to another location. That experience went far smoother and I wasn't required to fill out pointless paperwork. As my experience with Jeremy was excellent and Nate was extremely poor, I have averaged the reviews I'd have given them individually.
