Good Afternoon, I am writing because I feel like I have been wronged by U.S. Bank. A few years back I became very ill and had to go out on disability leave for approx. a year. My U.S. Bank account along with several other obligations fell to the wayside as I struggled to keep the lights on and a roof over my babies head. It has been a long road to recovery both physically and financially but I have made it a point to clear my name of debts one at time. Earlier this year I came to an arrangement with U.S. Bank to clear the debts owed on my accounts. I waited a few months before trying to open a new bank account, at which time I was told I was still in the Chex system. I called U.S. Bank and was told I would have to wait 5 more years before my name was removed and they would not remove my status even though I paid of my debts. Your ethics statement is Integrity Respect Responsibility and Good Citizenship. So even though I had integrity and took responsibility for my debt and paid it like a good citizen and U.S. Bank took my money my name is not respectable because U.S.Bank won't remove it from the Chex system. U.S. Bank is doing a disservice to me and all citizens trying to pick up the pieces by saying 'Hey you should've kept your money in your pocket and paid for a second chance account because even if you pay us you'll still have to do that.' It does not demonstrate Integrity or Respect to punish a good citizen when they act responsibly and pay their debts. I feel robbed, of my money, of my respect, of my new beginning. Please consider revising your policy due to the adverse effects it has on the lives of our citizens and your reputation. I also work in marketing and will be posting this to every forum I can think of.
