In 2009 my husband & I decided to replace both cars simultaneously, 1 in his name & 1 in mine. My husband once worked in Chillicothe & suggested them. He had used them in the past without incident as far as I know. Both recent loans were less then to be desired. On the first loan, the dealership called us to find out what the delay was; we had the vehicle. The CFCU employee had gone on medical leave, which we understand can happen as it’s hard to predict those things, however, no one bothered to inform us of this. A day later they found our paperwork. Afterwards we were mailed a coupon booklet with the incorrect amount, 8 cents short. It took them 2 months to notify us of this discrepancy. Although it was nice of them to take the money from another account, (my husband had $9 left over from his last auto loan payoff which was never mailed to us) in order to make up the difference, it would have been nice had the error not occurred. Ok, mistakes happen. We decided to give them the benefit of doubt. On the second loan, the initial paperwork went smoothly; the follow up, not so much. We were not mailed a booklet. I did my best to get the payments to them thinking all the while they would mail me all of the proper paperwork. Yes I admit I was a few days (3-4) late on a few of the payments but I wasn’t too concerned because we ach payments once everything is finalized & I figured it would get taken care of when I finally got everything in the mail. Instead, we never did end up with the booklet. I tried calling several times & sent a follow up email. I could not get a person on the phone at the time. The answering machine or voice mail, which ever they had, did not have an outgoing message so I wasn’t sure if they were getting my messages. No one was returning my phone calls. They state they did not get one of the payments & they claim I was mailed a letter. I got no such letter. Just like I didn’t get the payment booklet. Instead, my husband finally got an email at work regarding my missing payment. I could take no more, especially after the unsympathetic email I got back from earlier. Imagine my surprise when we went to refinance the house 2 months ago & found out that CFCU had reported us to Equifax. I have spoken to several people at the credit union in an attempt to refute the reporting; Laura, I believe was her name, told me “you are blowing this out of proportion.” I maintained my cool up until that point. I guess since it isn’t her credit report, she isn’t too concerned. I even suggested that she look at all of our timely payments on his previous vehicle & our new ones over the past 3 years. We still have a very good credit score; no thanks to Chivaho or it would have been even better. They don’t care & refuse to acknowledge that it could be a problem on their end. I have no idea what happened. Was the person who processes the payments out on leave? Did it get lost somewhere in their office? Perhaps they had something incorrect for the mailing address in my file but not my husbands? I am not to know. They are unwilling to concede anything or investigate any further. At no time during the last phone call, did the manager apologize to us for their poor customer service or take any responsibility for the mistakes on their part. I am sure she probably won’t; it seems inconceivable even in light of their documentation of the earlier issues. She is unwilling to investigate any further. They are very unsympathetic & unwilling to bend. According to her, it is all my responsibility. Which says to me that they believe they have no responsibility to me as the consumer. Proceed with extreme caution. They are fine if they mange to get it right the first time. If they make a mistake, good luck to you if you use them.

I hate that they set spending limits. And there is not alot of branches. So there is always an atm fee.
