Great Company

When we initially started our work in September with Goldwater Dave Elkins and Jeanette Morgan were extremely friendly and seemed very helpful. I guess the first red flag should have been when Jeanette told me right out of the gate to not talk to other banks at this point. There seemed to be very little communication between these two as one would ask for the same information the other day 24 hours apart - sometimes contradicting each other. Within the first week we were assured all looked good and initial documents were sent out. After that, the nightmare began. It seemed like every other day a new piece of paperwork was needed. Jeanette even tried to talk my wife into getting out of her 20 year student loan payoff program "for the time being" to get the loan to work. She also told me I needed to get a lower insurance rate on my house so we changed our insurance vendors after having a 20 year history with them (although we did get a better rate - so at least something positive happened). In October, Jeannette says we're ready to get this thing going and takes my credit card information to pay for the appraisal ($450) - the appraiser comes out and all seems good. Then it gets odd - we hear nothing. I leave a message and wait a week with no response - we never even received a copy of our appraisal. Jeannette tells my wife they need more documentation concerning her student loan program. My wife calls to get it and the student loan people tell us they've never had to provide the information that goldwater was asking for and nor could they - but they would be happy to set up a phone conference to discuss with them as they cannot discuss the loan without the payee present. We tell Jeannette this and she never responds. I'm at wits end and speak with David - he assures me he will contact the student loan people and get everything taken care of. I wait another week with no response. Now it is December, I get more upset with them and we are so far in it feels like we need to finish this. David informs me he is leaving and assures me I will be contacted by Curt Prinz to get this deal done. He finally sends me a copy of the appraisal as well. I wait another week - no response (we also sent a message to Jeannette to get an update - no response). I call and finally speak with Curt - he tells me he thought the loan was denied and filed away! I'm ready to explode and explain to him we never should have paid for an appraisal if we were not getting a loan. He tells me he will look into it and get back to me. He also asks for this student loan paperwork - which we send within minutes of the request. 24 hours pass and nothing - my wife leaves a message for Curt explaining the student loan company's offer to a teleconference - no response. I leave a message for Jeannette asking for an update - no response. We are now 48 hours hearing noting - 3 months into this process, no loan, and out $450 for an appraisal. I now wonder if we are in a bad financial situation and truly can't get a loan. My wife calls Quicken Loans out of frustration and within 4 hours we have a closing date. Our experience with this company has been horrible - the running around and jumping through hoops we did was exhausting, and they seems to be trying to "work the system" to get us a loan. The odd part is - we were hearing from them almost daily up until we paid the $450 for the appraisal - then they went dark.
