Joey Giangola is quite knowledgeable about health care insurance. He has made himself so because that's wise. He has also taken additional steps to provide that education to you on the website and, if needed, personally. This man wants your business and is willing to do the work to get it. How refreshing! FYI to anyone: If you chose Medical Mutual and are a client of University Hospital, understand that you need to take an additional step to protect yourself. Med Mutual does not pay for services rendered at the downtown campus site (for a pissing match decades ago between the insurer and UH). If you need a service done that your UH community hospital can't do, you need to go to UH's Ahuja campus. You need a physician that has privileges to admit you there. Now this is all easy to work out if your surgery is elective or your current provider arranges with an Ahuja physcian to admit you in a crisis. This is something to bring up to your current physician especially if you are under care for a chronic condition. I am a cancer patient and my UH oncologist did not have admitting privileges at Ahuja. That I didn't know any better about this glitch and that I might need to be admitted to Ahuja for an emergency procedure created a situation where I was stuck in Ahuja's ER for 3 hours trying to get help. I would need an ER physician to admit me. And Ahuja's ER is non stop very busy. When I couldn't wait anymore for how much I was suffering, I had to take another alternative that delayed what was necessary. By the time I was promptly admitted to Ahuja, I was at death's door ... so the renologist said. So, you want to have the discussion with your physician about how the transfer of care to Ahuja will be done seamlessly without a trip to their ER.
