This bank is terrible. The best part is the ATM because you don't have to get evilly glared at by the jerks who work there.

If you're reading this right now, you might have a few unanswered questions. Like, how well is the service,or the kindness of the people working here? Or maybe you're wondering if you should stop into this community bank, instead of the Fillmore bank? Well if you're new to the area and/or are a new student and don't know about the Houghton Community Bank legend, let me take you on a written journey... It all starts when you walk through the door. You're smiling, you've had a great day! Everything has gone your way today. You feel as if this day was to get any better, you have would have to be the literate embodiment of Ryan Gosling. That's when it starts, you haven't taken but 3 steps into the bank, and you feel it.It feels as if the very air you're breathing dropped 30 degrees into a chilly unwelcome atmosphere. But its not the literal air that has done this. But dead fish stares coming from all three bank tellers from behind the counter. You try to smile back at them, hoping that your smile would the spark of light that would shed an ounce of warmth into their cold dead souls. You soon that no smile that even Emma Watson could do, would bring these bank tellers back into the living world of kind people. You now just want to get out of the bank as soon as possible, however there is only on door in... and only one door you. You're trapped. You can't just turn around and walk back out, then they know they've won. So you have no other choice: You have to do you bank business in here, now. What bank business do you have to do? Doesn't matter, all the outcomes of the Bank Tellers are the same! Have to open a bank account? Evil stare and rolling of eyes. Have to cash a check? Snorting of a wildebeest and rolling of eyes. Have to order a new debt card because you lost yours? Growling of a wounded bear and rolling of eyes Have to withdraw everything from your bank account and hand over to the bank tellers trying to make them happier? Condescending looks and rolling of eyes. When these people are doing your bank business, they act as if you are really putting them out. They are both pissed off and miserable at the same time. As if you showed up to their house on thanksgiving with a group of hungry Al-Qaeda terrorists and you are now demanding they cook goat instead of turkey. Your now your work in the bank is done and you're on your way out. Your whole mood has changed. You feel as if you are the least wanted person in the whole world. If your mood had been the stock market, it just crashed bigger then the housing market crash in 2008. They smirk, knowing that they just have delivered another great mood-ruining bank service to one of their customers. You now have to go someone and lay alone an try to recover from what just happens. Thoughts come into your mind as you lay alone..You wonder, "who else have been affect by this?" and "is their any support groups for people who have been treated this way?" You are a hopeless wreak. All jokes aside, this Community Bank is the worst I have ever been in, its terrible. The three main Bank tellers are college known for being mean people. 2/3 of people who live in Houghton and go to the college, just go to the community bank in Fillmore. Just to avoid the pretentious bank tellers that work here. They are some of the most bitter people I have ever had to deal with. An this is a Houghton wide known fact. I hope they lose their jobs and someone who better at their job takes their place. So let me be clear, I gave them one star, because google reviews will not let me give them zero stars. Go to the Fillmore bank.
