Review ConServe

This company called my place of employment and told me that if they didn't receive money from me, they would start garnishing 33% of my pay check each pay period. They convinced me to go out and get a debit card and put money on it. They took $5 out of my account. At this point, thankfully, I haven't signed or sent anything other than $5 on a prepaid credit card, but this is obviously a scam. I don't understand how these people sleep at night, calling a person's work and threatening them.

They called me around January 25th and I made a payment arrangement to start in February, so over a four month span they would take 100 dollars out of my account each month on the 30th. The rep read back that she understood that's what I wanted to do and got everything processed. So Five days later I look in my account and I see that on the 30th of January 100 dollars was taken. So that definitely created problems being that I had to get my car fixed and was unable to because they took the money earlier than they were supposed to. I called back and spoke with a manager and she was nice and offered to return the money to me; however, it would take 12 business days. I did not have time to wait for 12 days for money that they took for me on an unapproved date. So i just went with it and suffered with finding money to fix my car. Other than that everything went smoothly with my payments. I am hoping to contact them to see if they can transfer my information to my creditors to count for my credit score because i always made sure I had my money in my account on time for them to get the payment done.

Horrible company! I ask to be removed from the program if they were going to continue to garnish my paycheck and take from my checking account and for months they did both! If their any legal wrong doing on their part please let me know. No matter how nice and polite I tried to be they were super rude!

Way to many complaints with this company. I filed a complaint with the BBB & my complaint fell on deaf ears. First, I must say that I was treated unfairly by Texas Tech University who decided to report this balance to this collection agency, simply because I filed a few complaints against the school. Lame school to begin with. The school obviously retaliated against me. I was never given a warning or notice indicating to make payments, or else the account would be turned over to collection, however, this is beside the point. My anger is toward Continental Service Group, Inc. I received a bill on Oct 14, 2016, that shows I owe the school a balance of $3,191.00. To my surprise, I also owe Continental Service Group an additional $797.75 in collection costs. These extra collection fees are unechical & unjust. On Friday, October 14, 2016, at approximately 12:30 p.m., I contacted the company to complain about the added charges. I spoke with a female who claimed to be a supervisor, however, I do not recall her name. She had one of the worst attitudes I have ever experienced in a human being. First, I asked her why they added $797.75 to my account when in fact I did not owe this amount to the school. Basically, I wanted to know what gives them the right to add such high interest on my balance that is already high as it is, which only adds to my financial hardship. This lady became sarcastic and said she was already looking into my credit file and saying that she had access to all my credit cards and other personal information and told me that I had opened up a credit card recently and that I should have no problems paying for the school balance. In addition, she refused to remove the added collection costs in the amount of $797.75. I was angered and disgusted by her comments and deeply offended & felt violated. Makes me angry to know a stranger has my information. This lady can best be described as rude, unprofessional, selfish and obviously lacked people skills. Due to her erratic behavior, I asked for a supervisor. I was transferred to another employee by the name of Dan Kirkpatrick. Although he was nicer than the previous lady, he also refused to remove the charges in the amount of $797.75. This is an outrageous amount of money that I have to pay in addition to the money I owe the school. First, this company has no idea of my financial situation, they do not know me personally, they do not know what I look like and they know nothing about me except what is on their computer screen. Now I am worried about identity theft. The employees are very quick to jump to conclusions and assume I am made out of money. On Nov 4, 2016, I contacted the company again. I wanted to know two things; Who keeps the $797.75 and how do they get away with charging such high collection costs or fees? How do they justify this? I spoke a guy by the name of Scot Salter who used obscene language toward me. Seriously. I spoke with another supervisor who refused to answer my two questions. This crooked company refuses to remove these bogus charges that were added to my original student balance. I do not like being treated like an animal. Keep in mind, they gave a lame excuse to the BBB as to the outstanding school balance but refused to elaborate on the $797.75. This agency is practicing unethical business tactics & they need to be investigated.

I have had an amazing experience with Conserve. I had a rough patch in the financial part of my life and my loans ended up defaulting. For the last year my wages have been garnished. It has been horrible. I got a call from Matt S. at Conserve and he told me that his job was to get me into a repayment program NOT to collect money. Instantly, I felt more comfortable talking to him because I didn't have the money, obviously or I would not have been in this situation in the first place. He said there were three programs: one was to pay it off entirely with a discount, second was to make three installments to pay it off, and the third was to make payments based on income. I ended up doing the program based on household income. I now pay $5 a month, my wages are no longer garnished, AND the default is going to be lifted from my credit report. Which means I can go back to school. I am so glad that my loans were sent to ConServe, I would have never gotten them paid off and having your wages garnished is definitely not fun!!
