eLEND in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ

I have been 'relieved' of $600 due to E-Lend incompetence! E-Lend chose an Appraisal Company (Land Gorilla) to carry out an appraisal. E-Lend took my $600.00 to pay for the appraisal. The appraisal was carried out and it was totally unsatisfactory. I am able to say this as I paid another loan company (Quicken Loans) to carry out an appraisal on the same property within two weeks of the E-Lend appraisal and the result was totally different. Since that time I have shuffled between E-Lend and Land Gorilla for a full or part refund without a satisfactory outcome. The standard reply is 'an appraisal was carried out so the bill has to be paid and you cannot expect two appraisers to come up with the same valuation'! For one appraiser (Land Gorilla) the valuation was $170k and for the Quicken Loans Appraiser $220k! To me, this is an enormous and unexpected difference. By the way, Zillow had an estimate of $210k at the same time. I am NOT a 'happy camper'!

Bought many house in my life and I can honestly say this is the worst experiences with a lender I've ever had. I'm usually not one to give bad comments because most people think that the person leaving the comment caused the issues but here I provided them with ever document they requested including special documents from my employer concerning my pay and was told that was enough. Then the day before we closed, I received a call saying that they didn't trust the information from my employer and were going to put a hold on my closing until further documents were filled out by my employer. I was floored as the documents they were disputing came from elend. Very very disappointed with them. I faxed paperwork to new lender and was told we can close in a week and half the paperwork I forwarded to the bank was not needed. Trust me, find a different lender. I lost a $1000 deposit because of this experience. Seriously considering litigation to recover it.

I had the exact same experience as these other reviewers. I started my refinance back in early October, which should have only taken 30-45 days. I was last told we may be able to close by January 25th, assuming it doesn't get delayed again. This is after many delays that made no sense and the closing costs/fees kept getting higher and higher. Now rates are about 1 percentage point higher and I missed out on last quarter's lower rates because of this company. Don't waste your time. Go with a reputable brick-and-mortar lender.

Extremely satisfied with my loan and eLend's process. Their online tool was easy to use to upload my documents. I do not agree with some of the poor service reviews. As long as you are capable of uploading or emailing the requested documents, then your experience will be very positive. Closing took 15 minutes at my house.
