On St Pattie's day this year I went to Washington, NJ branch of Unity Bank to close my old business account and reopen a new one with my new business name & Trade (DBA) name. I met Bhatami T who assisted me and when I told him what I wanted to do he told me that he couldn't open an account under my new business name because I was using my old Fed ID #. I told him I checked with the IRS and that is okay to do and that I was updating the name and it would take a month for the IRS to get back to me but in the interim I could open the account. He told me there was no way he was opening the account and that was all. He is an uninformed person and should never be allowed to sit with the public representing your bank. I have taken my business elsewhere & urge all users of this bank and it's branches to take their accounts and go elsewhere. It's one thing to have a free account but another to be told an untruth and then not even bother to call the IRS which is what this idiot should have done.
