Altana Federal Credit Union in Laurel, MT

I started an account thinking that since my current C. U. shared ATMs, the service would be similar and even better, Local. NOT SO! When I left the Heights Mini branch, I was set on using that ATM and the 25th st. office. The girl that answered my questions at the heights office did not seem professional and had a man, husband, (?) there with her, with Boss in site, frequently. Lisa, same, at Heights office answered 2nd call and when asked if she rcvd my voice Mail, asked, "What can I help you with?". No apology for not calling back. Gee, did the customer take you away from something MORE IMPORTANT? So, I figure, one bad apple, no big deal. Altana's ATM never did like their own debit/Visa card I was given and activated. IT blamed for 2 weeks before card malfunction even mentioned. Even then, off the cuff... Web site is a mess. Requires info not needed for billpayer and not at all user friendly. When one does call in, one is greeted with a giggle and, 'let me unlock your access so you can pay your bills." BYE, BYE! Andrew and Mgr at West End office are good but IT blame there also. Oh, Ashley, website helper, doesn't return calls or emails but, that's IT too, you understand. Had to transfer to old C.U to get bills paid! Out of there after that! Customer service is spelled E-X-C-U-S-E-S at Altana C.U.

I have found the folks at Altana very courteous and professional, despite what other reviewers may have experienced. I opened at the Laurel Branch and they have been great to work with. When I have taken out several loans, the process was very quick and I had the money I needed within a day or two. I don't get a bunch of hidden fees like the big banks or get lost in corporate land when I call, huge plus! I would like to see them have no fees for USAA / veteran affiliated ATM cards however and the switching from this card servicer to that card servicer has been rather annoying, but overall I am pleased with the services for my account.
