Pickard Motor Credit in Lee's Summit, MO

I had a very smooth and pleasant experience at Pickard Motors. Tony was very kind and helpful. There were no hidden fees or problems with the purchased car. Everything was laid out clearly for me. I couldn't have ask for a better place to buy my car. Highly recommended!

Went to pickard motors in Pleasant Hill MO to possibly trade my current vehicle, checked Kelly Blue Book & it said my vehicle was worth $1700, told the salesman a little bit about my vehicle. He never looked at it or drove it, he called the son of the owner & he only offered me $700!!! Took my vehicle elsewhere & got $2100 for the trade!!!!!!! This business should be turned in to the BBB!!!!

I bought a car from Pickard Motor Credit. I paid close to double the amount of the Kelly Blue Book value, because I was considered "high risk" customer due to my bad credit. It had a minor problem when I bought it, which they fixed since it was still under "new car" warranty. Just a few months after my initial purchase, my car started running roughly, and it was no longer under their warranty. I was told to go to a specific auto repair shop that they use. I went, paid around $500 for my repair, and hoped that the expensive problem was gone. I was wrong, because next month it happened again. Pickard Motor told me to return to their preferred shop, where I paid another $500 to have it fixed. At this point, my annoyance was pretty high. The following month, the problem returned for a third time. They told me to go to their shop they use and they would cover the repair cost. So, I went to the shop they use, found out they weren't willing to cover the repair cost, and paid yet another $500 for the repair. I decided then, I wasn't going to keep paying $500 each month to have my car temporarily "fixed". Next month when the problem undoubtedly returned, I instead went to a different auto repair shop, paid $300, and was very satisfied. The problem did not return the following month. Upon hearing that I did not use their shop, Pickard Motor Credit was very disappointed and said for further problems, I should take it to the repair place they usually use, as to not be "overcharged". Aside from that, general business practices seem sketchy all around. I feel that with my entire time with Pickard, I was constantly being told conflicting things. I'm an EXTREMELY irritated and unsatisfied customer, and I would tell anyone and everyone I know to avoid purchasing a car with them at all costs. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE! LOOK ELSEWHERE!

Bought a van from this place a while back only because we were down on our luck and had no where to turn. Unfortunately we learned real quick that they prey upon people like us. After purchasing the van we discovered that the horn did not operate (safety issue) and the A/C was non-functional. We were told to take the problems to their "preferred" shop in Lees Summit. We did that and they were able to repair the horn but the A/C became a nightmare several times throughout the ownership of this vehicle. We ended up selling this vehicle to a salvage yard because we felt that it was unsafe to be sold to anyone else. Pickard Motor Credit should be avoided at all cost. There are more reliable places around even if you have less than perfect credit.
