I had been a Chase member for over 30 years until this past week or so. I will NEVER join another bank & especially a Chase bank. I have had some financial struggles over the past few years due to a divorce, job loss & a move. To make a long story very short, I was misled & misunderstood the stipulations with using your debit/check etc., & the time frame you had to make a deposit to correct it. I called this branch & questioned why I had a withdraw & a insufficient fund charged to me when it I should still have time to correct it. I spoke with the Branch Manager " Dan R. Gourlay" & I never in my years of adulthood had ever been spoken to so rudely as him. As I was explaining my understanding he belittled my misunderstanding, spoke louder over me as I would ask another question & even laughed at me & said "HaHa, YOU really need to understand this (my name) that when you write a check YOU should ALWAYS have money in the bank to cover it." I had enough of his poor professionalism & sarcasm so I said to him " You know what Dan, I have had enough of your arrogance & I want to speak to a Manager." He again laughed & said " I AM the Manager." So I said " I am done dealing with you, you're are rude......" & he hung up on me. Three days later I find out my Direct Deposit hadn't made it into my account....WHY?...Because it was froze & will soon be closed. This by no means was a coincidence & the letter I received stated only reasons why Chase can freeze & close an account & I did nothing wrong in that list to have mine froze & closed. This young boy NEEDS to be reprimanded for his poor customer service to a long time customer who basically called him out on his pathetic manager skills & sought revenge on something that Chase gave him leverage to do so. I am glad to the extent of being away from Chase because I have been screwed over by them a few times & am off to better customer service who appreciates my business, regardless of who I am &/or what money I may or may not have. Shame on you Dan R. Gourlay.
