Bangor Federal Credit Union in Bangor, ME

I have had a very frustrating and infuriating process of getting a HSA account set up through them. First, I went in and stated that I wanted an account for both me and my husband. Wrote all his information down, and asked if he needed to be there to sign anything. She stated that it was not necessary for him to be there. Then, I found out that he was never added and he did need to sign the paperwork. In addition they spelled our last name wrong so I had to have new cards sent to us. When they arrived neither of them were able to be activated. I called the bank once again to ask about this and I was transferred to 3 different people before I talked to someone that could possibly help me (which has been the case every time I call) and each time I had to re-explain what happened. Also, during this whole ordeal, which took a few months, I could not use any of the money for my prescriptions and had to pay out of my pocket on top of the money taken out of my paycheck that goes into my HSA automatically. They say that it was set up improperly on their end and it should work. We'll see...

Bangor federal is a lying and cheating bank! They are very rude and don't conduct business with them. They will screw you over like the did with me. Beware!!!!!!

I have a savings account and no ATM card. I have to use drive up or walk in, all the tellers that I have dealt with have been helpful and pleasant. They also have nice, modern drive up equipment that seems never to be broken (unlike other institutions with which I have to deal).
